Secure Credit Card Data Storage
Even companies that spend millions of dollars on security upgrades to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data get breached. Using Braintree’s Vault, merchants can remotely store all credit card and any other sensitive data in a Level 1 PCI DSS Compliant environment. If the data is not present in the merchant environment, there is nothing to be stolen.
Merchants still retain full usability and control over the credit card data to initiate recurring billing transactions and manage reporting and reconciliation. Advanced user options give merchants the ability to either see the full 15 or 16 digit credit card number in the Control Panel and API or limit access to masked data only.
